As a member of the J.D. Irving, Limited (JDI) group of companies, we are continually exploring innovative new ways to lighten our environmental footprint. Our mandate is to manage our operations so they deliver the highest quality services in an environmentally sustainable and socially responsible manner.
We are dedicated to being proactive in our approach to environmental management and in order to fulfill this commitment, we will:
- Meet relevant environmental legislative and regulatory requirements in addition to those standards subscribed to from the trucking and chemical associations.
- Make efficient use of our people, materials and energy, and minimize any adverse environmental impact, limited only by technological and economic viability.
- Strive to achieve the highest standards for the safe operation of our facilities and the protection of our environment, our employees, our customers, and the people of the communities in which we do business.
- Continually improve our environmental performance by promoting environmental awareness throughout our operations and setting measurable objectives and targets.
- Educate our employees about our commitment to environmental protection and prevention of pollution.
- Conduct periodic audits and management reviews to elicit areas of development and provide the basis for continuous improvement.
- Focus our operations on minimizing the risk of environmental incidents, ensure we are prepared to respond quickly and effectively to any environmental incident that may occur, and provide leadership to assist our local communities to improve their emergency preparedness.
